National Construction Code 2024

Rossdale Homes is open for business COVID-19

Dear valued customer:

Rossdale would like to bring to your attention some important updates regarding the building code, effective from October 1st, 2024. These changes, mandated by the South Australian government, are aimed at enhancing livability standards across all residential constructions. As this is just around the corner Rossdale will be incorporating these changes into all our new concept plans.

In adherence to these new regulations, it has been determined that our current designs do not comply with the updated code. Some modifications are necessary to ensure their compliance.

Among the key modifications mandated by the updated building code are:

  1. Wider Doorways and Passageways: To facilitate easier movement, doorways and passageways will need to be widened to meet the new standards.

  2. Open Space around Wet Areas: Specifically, around toilets and showers, additional open space will be required to enhance accessibility and ease of movement.

  3. Blocking to bathroom and W/C walls: This is to allow for the future provisions of hand rails and will be required.

  4. Energy efficiency: Designed to reduce the running costs of your new home this will be moving from 6 Star to 7 Star and may affect the design of your home with more Insulation, double glazing, solar panels, Etc.

Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to talk to one of our building consultants.

Thank you from the Rossdale Team
